Reacting to the news that Pres. Obama had won the Nobel Peace Prize, Rush Limbaugh announced that his hatred of the American president has driven him into the arms of anti-U.S. entities like Iran and the Taliban:

LIMBAUGH: I think that everybody is laughing. Our president is a worldwide joke. Folks, do you realize something has happened here that we all agree with the Taliban and Iran about and that is he doesn’t deserve the award. Now that’s hilarious, that I’m on the same side of something with the Taliban, and that we all are on the same side as the Taliban.

This brought to mind the last time Limbaugh got into a snit about the peace prize — in 2007 when he nominated himself only to lose to Al Gore.

Following in the footsteps of former Sen. Rick “Man on Dog” Santorum and megachurch preacher Rick Warren, Rep. Louie Gohmert, the jug-eared Texas Republican, took the House floor last week and compared gay people to pedophiles and necrophiliacs:

REP. LOUIE GOHMERT R-TEXAS: The definition of sexual orientation is wide open to all kinds of interpretation. And some day, some court, somewhere, will say, “You know what? Sexual orientation means exactly what those words mean.” If you’re orientated toward animals, bestiality, then, you know, that’s not something that can be used-held against you or any bias be held against you for that. Which means you’d have to strike any laws against bestiality, if you’re orientated toward corpses, toward children, you know, there are all kinds of perversions.

Leaving aside the heartlessness of this sort of rhetoric and the damage it does to gay teens in Texas and elsewhere, it has to be pointed out that Gohmert’s formulation is wrong. When people have sex with children, animals or corpses, the sex acts are non-consensual. When adults choose to have sex with each other, it’s not only consensual, it’s none of Louie Gohmert’s fucking business.
