Poetic Justice

In the diplomatic ranks, trained professionals toil,
To keep the peace and tamp down foreign turmoil.
But for Greek ambassador,
Trump picked an artful dodger —
The grifting, drunken blackmailer Kimberly Guilfoyle.

A record number of women are running for state legislative seats this November, more than two-thirds of whom are Democrats, reports Florida Phoenix. Across the 46 states with legislative seats on the ballot, a total of 3,824 women are running — up from 2022’s previous record of 3,621 women candidates, according to the Center for American Women and Politics at Rutgers University. Women make up 35.5% of all state legislative candidates this cycle. Currently, women hold about one-third of state legislative seats across the country — a record level of representation but nowhere near parity.

$1.4 billion
“Prediction markets about the 2026 midterm elections have surpassed $1.4 billion in trading volume as Election Day fast approaches,” CNN reports. “This year has seen massive growth in the prediction industry, where people can bet on real-world events like sports, entertainment and the weather. While small-scale election markets have been around for a while, they gained traction before the 2024 presidential election and have seen huge numbers for the 2026 midterms.”

G. Elliot Morris: “Low-knowledge 2024 voters say they backed Trump by 8 points, according to our poll. Today they give him a net job approval of ?27, a 35-point shift. Compare that to Trump’s approval rating among voters who got both questions right: These voters backed Harris by 1 point and now give Trump a net ?24 approval, a 23-point shift. … Low-information voters have moved against Trump at a higher rate than high-information voters, by 12 points.”

Please also note that the humor site whitehouse.org states: “In this NEVER BEFORE SEEN photo, …”
i.e. the cig was inserted in the pic
Puh-leeze. Everything we know about George W. Bush makes it 110% likely that he was smoking a cigarette when this family Christmas portrait was taken (probably when his father was Nixon’s Ambassador to the United Nations) — and that his parents a) would not stop him and b) would then send the photo to their pholitical supporters showing their eldest to be the lout that he is.
Remember, this is the son who was asked during an interview at the 1988 GOP convention where his father was being nominated to be President of the United States, what he and the then-vice president talked about when they were alone. George Jr. answered, “Pussy.”
And smoking a cigarette is a crime in what way?
Yeah – I can’t stand the guy, but (even if the picture’s real) it’s a _cigarette_. Last I checked, smoking them is still legal. Let’s focus on the _actual_ bad things he’s done, yeah?
Ask your mother (or wife) how she would feel about it if you wanted to be photographed in your family’s Christmas photo holding a cigarette.
Gosh ! What a pretty boy!I never realized he is GAY !
No wonder he was too frightened to go to the American war.
GOSH JUST LOOK AT HIM! STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES only in THIS PIC IT IS STUPID AND STUPIDER! THIS SOB ONLY MADE PRES AS A GENUINE ROGUE
CIGARETTE MY ASS!!!! HOW DO YOU KNOW IT AN’T A JOINT! HE SHURE DID IT WHEN HE CLAIMED TO BE IN THE ARMY!! —–ARMY!—-THE NIGHT CLUBS HE WAS IN WITH THE WOMEN HE WAS WITH!!!! MY GOD I woulod love to have been in that army!
Get a grip! Cigarettes are legal and in the 1970s were considered “cool”. It really doesn’t matter what you personally think about that. The man has so many other problems that are affecting us all that I really can’t believe you would waste time on such a totally unimportant trifle.
I’ve always thought that GWB was a closet gay. He likes to kiss men way too much! But his mother was more interested in raising a serial killer and he’s made her proud: Over 650,000 Iraqis and he’s not finished. “They” are already talking about bombing Iran. Why hasn’t this criminally insane individual been removed from office? Then send him to the International Criminal Court for war crimes.
By the way, he likes to torture people and he thinks that GOD talks to him. Whenever a criminal, and that was adequately proved by his not reporting his insider trade of Harken Energy stock for 8 months, commits a henious crime and then says God told him to do it, he needs to be put down like a mad dog.
