It’s official. Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-California) has been elected Speaker of the House for the 110th Congress.

UPDATE: I got a little ahead of myself. The entire House will vote to elect the speaker when the 110th Congress convenes in January. The candidates will be Pelosi and a Republican. Until then, she is technically the “speaker designate.”
