Watch Republican Sen. Marco Rubio Lie and Lie and Lie about Being the Son of Exiles

From American Bridge 21st Century:

As reported in the Washington Post, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio was caught embellishing his life story. Despite numerous claims that his parents fled Cuba after Castro’s regime took power in 1959, documents show his parents came to the U.S. in 1956.

Rubio made the false assertions not just on his official Senate bio, but in numerous speeches and cable television appearances over the years. Watch a sampling of his embellished statements in a new video from American Bridge 21st Century

  1. He’s apparently the son of communists. Nothing else makes sense here.

Do you remember the name of the brainwashed soldier from the Manchurian Candidate? It was Marco.

    Really, it was.

  2. Gosh, off by three years on something that occurred a half century ago – before he was born! How petty. Let he without sin cast the first stone. HYPOCRICY? Come back when you have some real lies on substantive issues like; war records, cash in your freezer, making a wrong turn on an island, blow jobs in the oval, penis tweeting, evading taxes on condos or cheating on your wife as she suffers with cancer.

    1. Really!? How about submitting duplicate expense accounts to the state government and RPOF and other financial shenanigans for which his buddy Jim Greer went to jail, not to mention charges he refused to answer about flying his alleged mistress, the lobbyist Amber Stone, to posh resorts on “business?”

Come on. Lying is the only thing at which Republicans are not completely inept. Bush, Cheney Powell, Rumsfeld, Rice et al perpetuated the huge lie that Iraq had WMD, and as a result tens of thousands of people, including U.S. troops and innocent Iraqi men, women, children and infants were killed or maimed, and a trillion dollars and more was needlessly drained from the U.S. Treasury, most of which went into the pockets of their colleagues and benefactors in the war industry. Somewhere in hell Goebbels must have been delighted.

If you want lying about sex, Republicans have that market cornered, too.The classic was House Speaker Newt Gingrich, the self-proclaimed intellectual and moral leader of the Republican Party, who was engaged in a long-term affair with a congressional staffer while he drove the so-called Defense of Marriage Act through Congress and led the impeachment of Pres. Clinton for lying in the discovery phase of a civil lawsuit about his affair with a staffer — not to mention Gingrich’s divorcing his first wife while she was dealing with a cancer diagnosis. (The GOP’s other “intellectual” leader, Rush Limbaugh, was arrested for buying 2,000 oxycontin doses in six months, and nobody wants to know what he was doing with someone else’s Viagra prescription on his Caribbean sex tour with three Fox TV guys.)

Then there was Ted Haggard, the “completely heterosexual” president of National Evangelical Association president; “wide stance” Sen. Larry Craig, the moralizer from Idaho; Sen. John Ensign who lied about his affair and covered it up with the help of the his Christianist co-cultists, including the self-righteous Sen. Tom Coburn, at the C Street coven house; former S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford, who went “hiking” with his Argentinian mistress; the uber-Christian Rep. Marc Souder, who resigned after his affair with a staffer was revealed; former “America’s Mayor” Rudy Giuliani, who second wife found out about his affair with his current wife from a TV news report; and, of course, former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger schtumping the maid and dozens of other women, some of whom he allegedly rented, while he was married.

Hell, Dwight Eisenhower had an affair during World War II and even St. Ronnie Reagan began his affair with future first-wife Jane Wyman while she was still married to her second husband — and the marriage of Ronnie to his second wife Nancy was a bit of shotgun affair, since she was pregnant at the time they took their vows.

And then there’s Mitt Romney, who literally cannot say anything without lying. Case in point, when it was revealed that his campaign was not vetting Rubio to be veep — and why would they, the guy is a hot mess — Romney said more than once that only he and his vetting chairwoman know who’s on the list. That was clearly a lie. Every man who is being vetted knows he is on the list, as do each of these guys’ wives, kids, parents, lawyers, accountants, former teachers, ex-girlfriends, college professors, high-school teachers and former neighbors. Literally hundreds of people know who the Romney campaign is vetting and to say otherwise is a big fat lie.

As a Democrat, I hope Republicans will continue to try to push Rubio onto the national stage. The guy is equally as smarmy as John Edwards but probably 100 times more corrupt.
