From the Murdoch/News Corp (R-Hacking) owned New York Post:
After months of hedging, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is giving serious thought to jumping into the ring for a GOP presidential run — and could make his decision next week, The Post has learned.
The announcement may come as soon as Monday, said sources familiar with Christie’s thinking.
The renewed consideration about a White House run came after prodding this week from some Republicans he idolizes, including former First Lady Nancy Reagan, former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, and former President George W. Bush, sources said.
In other words, what’s left of the GOP establishment — liberal Republicans, by tea party standards, like George W. Bush and Nancy Reagan — want Christie to run. They don’t care that it means there will be two Northeastern Republicans in the race. Nor do they care that Christie’s bullying, pugnacious personality does not travel well outside New Jersey — that it will be particularly repellant to Southerners of all political persuasions.
It is also not important to Bush and Reagan that Christie has taken radically liberal positions — again, by tea party standards — on immigration (like Pres. Reagan, Christie favors amnesty), gun control, climate change, education and Islam.
If all those positions don’t kill his candidacy among tea baggers in the primaries, this one almost undoubtedly means he won’t survive, for one, the South Carolina primary:
CHRIS CHRISTIE: My religion says it’s a sin. But for me, I have always believed that people are born with the predisposition to be homosexual,” Christie told Piers Morgan on Tuesday night. “And so I think if someone is born that way it’s very difficult to say then that that’s a sin. I understand that my church says that. But for me personally, I don’t look upon someone who’s homosexual as a sinner.
Paradoxically, the Family Research Council, a pro-bullying Republican hate group, has already made it clear that, despite Christie’s propensity for bullying, his support for an anti-bullying initiative in New Jersey schools is a deal killer among the GOP’s homo-bigot base.

Bulls on parade…. or is it desperation on display?
Christie is this election cycle’s Fred Thompson. In 2008, Thompson rode in on his white horse as the gop savior, and slept through a handful of debates, then high-tailed it back to show biz.
If Christie follows suit, two things will be sure to happen: Tea baggers will be booing him and his “radical” positions at the debates, and the poor horse will be crushed to death.
I would enjoy hearing, however, a republican telling off a few tea baggers at some of these events.
Willburrr… looks like christie wont even put one ass cheek in the race…
It is only a sin when acted upon. Not actually being homosexual. He should know that if he goes to church… nor is it about what he thinks but the Faith.
