Who could have ever predicted we’d one day have an secretary of state who would make Kissinger look appealing?
That person, Sec. Condoleeza Rice, is on television right now answering critics of Pres. Bush’s do-nothing approach to the current crisis. Her reason for dithering while Haifa and Beirut burn?

The Hezzies are valuable Iranian assets. We want the Hezzies destroyed as much as humanly possible. The Israelis are doing a pretty good job at this. Condi is taking her sweet time getting over there to give the IDF time to finish as much of the job as humanly possible. How much of this is hard for liberals to understand?

No, section9, your dimestore patriotism is as phony as your piety. Liberals are the ones who actually are the real Christians, and seek peace through mutual understanding and respect. Conservatives like to beat their chests about being Christian, but most are sinful hypocrites who worship the false gods of money and power. War is a direct repudiation of Jesus’s admonition to love one another as he has loved us — and is therefore always wrong and to be avoided.

This sudden war is beyond the pale. Hezbollah did not kidnap anyone, IDF soldiers crossed the border and were captured. Now civilians are paying with their lives. There is no way that Condi’s refusal to accept a ceasefire will bring anything good. She wants her war on, and she is using innocent civilians to provoke it. We’ll be bombing Syria and Iran by air in no time. Jon, I shake my head in shame thinking that Kissinger actually did more to solve Middle East problems then Condi.
