Caro at Make Them Accountable has a chart that shows the ratio of men to women in the leftwing echo chamber is about two to one.
She breaks out lists of leading personalities among radio talk show hosts, newspaper columnists, editorial cartoonists, magazine writers and editors, book authors and bloggers.
Check out the chart.
(Couldn’t help but notice that the ratio of straight to gay people on the list is probably better than 10 to one.)

Oh come on now! Considering the gay population makes up about 10% of the population, is it really unusual that only 10% of the pundits would be gay? What is your point with this piece? Anyone can get a free weblog…nobody is standing in the way of Left-leaning women signing up for and starting a blog. I would encourage it…some of my favorite blogs are Tennessee Guerilla Women, Katrina’s Blog, and MoxieGrrlll.
If you want to add something meaningful to the debate…discuss the obvious gay-hate-n-bait taking place on the right. Discuss women’s wage issues. Discuss a REAL issue! Better yet, have a link from your popular site to blogspot or something so more people can start their own blogs — gay, straight, white, non-white, male and female…the more the merrier!
August is right if he’s saying the entire world is a straight guy’s club so that’s not news. And I too notice some glaring omissions from the list cited: Maureen Dowd, Wonkette, me. I can understand the others, but me? How could she leave me off the list?
