Steve Bannon’s nihilist fight with the Jan. 6 Committee — in which the right-wing podcaster and one-time Donald Trump adviser ignored a congressional subpoena and ended up convicted of a crime — cost him more than half a million dollars, reports the Daily Beast. And that’s not to mention the four-month jail sentence he’ll start if his appeal fails or the $6,500 fine that goes along with it. Instead, Bannon’s $601,000 bill comes entirely in the form of legal bills—most of which remain unpaid to this day.

Former Trump White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon’s “War Room” podcast has been the top spreader of misinformation in the conservative media ecosystem, according to a new study.Bannon’s “War Room” shared the most unsubstantiated or false claims in the dataset included in a study published by the Brookings Institution this week. Close to 20 percent of all episodes of Bannon’s show that were assessed featured claims that Snopes and PolitiFact fact-checkers or the terms dictionary flagged as unsubstantiated or false, the study found.

Former Trump administration chief strategist Steve Bannon was charged with fraud by federal prosecutors in New York and taken into custody, Axios reports. Bannon, along with three others, allegedly defrauded donors out of hundreds of thousands of dollars for their own profit with a crowdfunding campaign called “We Build the Wall” that raked in over $25 million.
