A nationwide anti-President Trump movement on Saturday is expected to be the largest single-day protest since he entered office, Axios reports. More than 1,100 rallies, visibility events and meetings were scheduled in all 50 states.

As it turned out, the Free Speech Coalition rally was a dud. The tiny, unremarkable gathering of what looked to be about 50 people on Boston Common’s Parkman Bandstand was too far away to be seen or heard by an opposition that covered acres, the Boston Globe reports.

If Trump has a plan to crush his adversaries, he has not yet revealed it. His authoritarian rage thus far is mostly impotent, the president as angry Fox-News-watching grandfather screaming threats at his television that he never carries out. The danger to the republic may come later, or never. In the first month of Trump’s presidency, the resistance has the upper hand.

Don’t Credit Trump with Creating ‘Disruption’
We must resist a bad habit infecting political commentary that sees Trump’s irresponsibility, bigotry and casual cruelty as a heroic form of “disruption” aimed at bringing down “the establishment.” No. The people in the streets rallying against Trump are not the establishment. Those political and business leaders who are, for now, playing along with and enabling Trump very much are the establishment.

Some former congressional staffers are taking a lesson from the Tea Party’s playbook to craft an organized resistance to the rise of the Trump State.
They’ve written a handbook called “Indivisible: A Practical Guide for Resisting the Trump Agenda,” which is freely available for downloading, sharing and editing. It might actually work.
