Latino and Hispanic Voters, Please Note

“These people do it naturally — naturally. I said, what happens if they get it to a farmer the other day? What happens if they get a bad back? He said, ‘They don’t get a bad back, sir, because if they get a bad back, they die.’ I said, that’s interesting, isn’t it? In many ways, they’re very, very special people.”

— President Donald Trump told CNBC that migrants are “naturally” able to do farm work in a way American citizens can’t.

How to Lose the Latino Vote

“These Latinos, they love making babies, too. Just know that they do. There’s no pulling out. They don’t do that. They cum inside, just like they did to our country.” A few moments later, the comedian took a second swing at Puerto Ricans: “There’s a lot going on. I don’t know if you guys know this, but there’s literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now. I think it’s called Puerto Rico.”

— “Comedian” Tony Hinchcliffe crudely mocked Latinos — a key constituency for any winning campaign in 2024 — during preprogramming for Donald Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally October 27, NBC News reports.

Dems Keep Losing Latinos

54%

A national NBC News/Telemundo poll of the Latino electorate out today finds that Democrats lead Republicans by more than 20 points among Latino voters, “but that Democratic advantage has declined from previous election cycles.” Key takeaway: 54% of Latino voters say they prefer Democrats to control Congress as a result of the upcoming midterm elections, versus 33% who want Republicans in charge.

Vast Majority of Latinos Reject Trump

78%

A new Latino Decisions poll found only 21% of Latinos said they would probably or definitely vote for Donald Trump in 2020, with only 13% saying they “definitely” would. An overwhelming majority —almost eight-in-ten (78%)—said they are strongly or somewhat “frustrated with how Trump and his allies treat immigrants and Latinos” and are worried things will get worse.

In Florida, Trump trails Clinton by 24 percentage points — the closest margin out of the four states. Clinton leads Trump 68% to 18% in Arizona, 65% to 19% in Nevada and 62% to 17% in Colorado. Florida, Colorado and Nevada are three battleground states where Latinos are likely to make up more than 10% of the electorate this year.
