“President Trump’s enemies continue to try everything to destroy him, his family, and the presidency. In the history of our country, no president has been attacked as he has. I believe the only hope for him, and this nation, is God.”
— Franklin Graham, a prominent evangelical supporter of President Trump, calling for Christians across the country to set aside this Sunday as a “special day of prayer” for the president, the HuffPost reports.
“I never said he was the best example of the Christian faith. He defends the faith. And I appreciate that very much.”
— Evangelical leader Franklin Graham, in an interview with Axios, on why he supports President Trump.
“I don’t want to see religious bigotry in any form. It would disturb me if there was a wedding between the religious fundamentalists and the political Right. The hard Right has no interest in religion except to manipulate it.”
– Billy Graham, Parade Magazine, 1981

— Franklin Graham, urging in a Facebook post for a halt to all Muslims coming into the United States in the aftermath of shootings in Chattanooga that killed four Marines and one sailor.

— The Rev. Frankin Graham, quoted by Right Wing Watch.
