Gaetz Report Paid $90k ƒor Sex and Drugs While in Congress
$90,000
The House Ethics Committee released the report on its yearslong investigation into former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R, FL-1) yesterday. Read the 37-page document here (click “Committee Report”). The committee found Gaetz obstructed Congress and violated other ethics rules while in office, paying over $90K to 12 women for sex or drugs—including marijuana, ecstasy, and cocaine. One of the girls allegedly paid for sex was 17 years old at the time; multiple women were transported over state lines for the purpose of sex.
Shameless, Not Blameless
His last motions to suppress were frenetic,
But the ethics committee was unapologetic.
While money, sex and drugs did abound,
In the end the committee found
That Matt Gaetz simply has no shame, morals or ethics.

“When Republican megadonor Harlan Crow isn’t lavishing Justice Clarence Thomas with free trips on his private plane and yacht (in possible violation of Supreme Court ethics rules), he lives a quiet life in Dallas among his historical collections. These collections include Hitler artifacts—two of his paintings of European cityscapes, a signed copy of Mein Kampf, and assorted Nazi memorabilia—plus a garden full of statues of the 20th century’s worst despots.”

Outgoing Ethics Chief Says U.S. a ‘Laughingstock’
“It’s hard for the United States to pursue international anticorruption and ethics initiatives when we’re not even keeping our own side of the street clean. It affects our credibility. I think we are pretty close to a laughingstock at this point.”
— Outgoing government ethics chief Walter Shaub, quoted by the New York Times.

And now the Ethics Office says Trump should admonish her.
This Kellyanne Conway antic
Goes far beyond ethics,
But don’t hold your breath waiting for Trump to punish her.
