Bachmann: The End Times Are Near

We recognize the shortness of the hour. And that’s why we as a remnant want to be faithful in these days and do what it is that the Holy Spirit is speaking to each one of us, to be faithful in the Kingdom and to help bring in as many as we can — even among the Jews — share Jesus Christ with everyone that we possibly can because, again, he’s coming soon.

— Former Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN), calling for converting as many people as possible to Christianity because Jesus is “coming soon,” The Hill reports.

Huckabee Says Obama ‘Pretends’ to Be a Christian

I’m less concerned about what faith the person has. I’m more concerned about the authenticity of their faith and how that plays out in their politics … I’m also concerned about a guy that believes he’s a Christian and pretends to be and then says he is, but then does things that makes it very difficult for people to practice their Christian faith.

— Mike Huckabee, telling Newsmax that President Obama “pretends to be” a Christian.

Franklin Graham Suggests Stopping Muslim Immigration

Every Muslim that comes into this country has the potential to be radicalized – and they do their killing to honor their religion and Muhammad. During World War 2, we didn’t allow Japanese to immigrate to America, nor did we allow Germans. Why are we allowing Muslims now?

— Franklin Graham, urging in a Facebook post for a halt to all Muslims coming into the United States in the aftermath of shootings in Chattanooga that killed four Marines and one sailor.

Santorum Misses the Cause of the Charleston Killings

This is one of those situations where you just have to take a step back and say we — you know, you talk about the importance of prayer in this time and we’re now seeing assaults on our religious liberty we’ve never seen before. It’s a time for deeper reflection beyond this horrible situation.

— GOP primary hopeful Rick Santorum, calling the church shooting in Charleston — which left nine people dead — a “crime of hate” and connected the event to a broader “assault on our religious liberty,” the Washington Post reports.

Robertson: God Killed Your Friend’s Baby So It Wouldn’t Grow Up to Be Hitler

As far as God’s concerned, He knows the end from the beginning and He sees a little baby and that little baby could grow up to be Adolf Hitler, he could grow up to be Joseph Stalin, he could grow up to be some serial killer, or he could grow up to die of a hideous disease. God sees all of that, and for that life to be terminated while he’s a baby, he’s going to be with God forever in Heaven so it isn’t a bad thing.

— Pat Robertson, on the “700 Club,” explaining to a woman whose friend’s 3-year-old died why God took the baby and why it was a good thing, reported by Mediaite.

Louisiana Lawmaker Says Obama Defended ISIS

I was very disappointed, although not surprised. The president has said many things that just seem so unpresidential, and this was no exception. … Not only did he vilify Christianity, but he actually made a case to defend radical Islam, that’s killing people around the world. He actually defended what they were doing, and tried to draw some sort of twisted equivalency, moral equivalency, between what they’re doing today and what Crusaders did 800 years ago. It really, it was really weird.

— Rep. John Fleming (R-LA), asserting that President Obama’s speech to the National Prayer Breakfast last week in which he drew a historical comparison between atrocities committed by Islamic State fighters and past “terrible deeds in the name of Christ” were “unpresidential” and actually defended ISIS, BuzzFeed reports.
