Verbatim

While I am very sympathetic to those who passionately support the repeal, as a Senator of just three weeks, I have not had the opportunity to visit and hear the full range of viewpoints from the citizens of West Virginia.

— Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV), the only Democrat to vote against a procedural motion to repeal the law banning gays from serving in the military. But after the vote, The Hill reports Manchin “blasted out a statement apologizing to anyone angered by his vote and said he believed the policy ‘probably should be repealed in the near future.'”

  1. Expect more and more of this from Joe Manchin. He cannot take a stand on anything until figuring out what others want him to do. He was the worst governor in West Virginia history, but the West Virginia media love this idiot. They don’t know him.

  2. Hell, no one was asking him to cast a final vote on the bill. He’s just another coward, too afraid to stand up and do the right thing. These stupids act as if they’ll be contaminated with something by casting a procedural vote. May they wake up in hell after this life is over. I’m a Christian, and I firmly believe that if you don’t do what’s right, you can’t expect to be rewarded by going to heaven after life on this plane of existence ends.
