Palin’s Note in Support of Haley is All About…Palin

Only Sarah Palin could take what should have been a note of encouragement and make it all about her. And how she’s been mistreated. And attacked. And lied about. And on and on and on.

Gosh, poor Sarah. I mean, poor Nikki. Whichever.

If you missed it, Rep. Nikki Haley (R-S.C.) is running for governor of her state, which is looking for one, what with the term-limited Gov. Mark Sanford off in Argentina pursuing affairs. So the last thing South Carolina needs is a governor who has affairs, right? Well, one Will Folks, a former Haley speech writer and now a conservative blogger, says he had “an inappropriate physical relationship” with his boss in 2007.

Haley is the tea bagger favorite in the race, and as such, has drawn the endorsement of former partial term Gov. Sarah Palin, who came to South Carolina to campaign for her. Now whoever writes Palin’s Facebook notes has posted an aggrieved statement ostensibly in support of Haley but basically all about Sarah.

When Nikki and I held her endorsement rally on the steps of the beautiful and historic South Carolina state house a few weeks ago, I warned her and her family that she would be targeted because she’s a threat to a corrupt political machine…That, unfortunately, is the nature of the beast in politics today – especially for conservative “underdog” candidates who surge in the polls and threaten to shake things up so government can be put back on the side of the people.

…For traditional media to rely on an accusation via some blog entry is almost laughable, but I know the seriousness of it because that’s exactly what my family and colleagues have had to put up with, every single day, for the past couple of years.

As I said to Nikki this morning, “Hang in there. I’ve been there. Any lies told about you will strengthen your resolve to clean up political and media corruption. You and your supporters will grow stronger through things like this.”

Reaching her from Wasilla, I then joked with Nikki that I was calling her from one of the many locations the lamestream media claims I moved to. (Let’s see, I think the last I heard I was living in the Hamptons, or was it Montana? No, supposedly L.A. is where they claim I moved when I “left Todd” in their idiotic reports.)

Gosh, poor Sarah. I mean, poor Nikki. Whichever.

Despite Sarah’s vague statements that Folks is trying to take down Haley because she has a good chance to win, neither Palin nor the candidate has articulated what his personal motivation for making up the story might be. They certainly have done nothing to show he’s not telling the truth when he says he got wind that the story was about to break anyway, and for his wife’s sake (he was single when the alleged affair with Haley took place), he wanted to be out in front of it.

  1. I find this to be very rich coming from the half term governor:

“As I said to Nikki this morning, “Hang in there. I’ve been there. Any lies told about you will strengthen your resolve to clean up political and media corruption. You and your supporters will grow stronger through things like this.”

When I read this part of the Palin FB post, the first thing that popped into my mind was that basically, Palin is telling Nicki to continue the campaign, and if she wins, she can take care of her detractors by exacting her revenge at that time.

I went to FITS News yesterday to read the emails, and although I can’t draw a conclusion as to whether the alleged affair happened or not, the emails definitely hint strongly at the Haley campaign being concerned about some information getting into the MSM. I must also say that the profanity of some of these “c”hristian conservatives gives insight into their true natures. On thestate.com web site Nicki still has some supporters who are refusing to believe that their candidate may have had a physical relationship with Folks. Folks seems to have become Worst Person In SC for these folks. Attacking the messenger and ignoring the warning signs of a candidate who just might not be the right choice for your state seems to work so well for them. It’s been a recipe for success in SC for years. After all, they did send Joe Wilson, Jim DeMented, and Lindsay Graham to Congress! LOL
