BREAKING: Rep. Schmidt Calls Rep. Murtha a ‘Coward’

“A few minutes ago I received a call from Colonel Danny Bubp, Ohio Representative from the 88th district in the House of Representatives. He asked me to send Congress a message: Stay the course. He also asked me to send Congressman Murtha a message, that cowards cut and run, Marines never do. “

  1. I love the fact that people who have never served, nor sent their children to serve are so free to call others cowards-this is said by a woman who has the chutzpah to call a decorated Vietnam vet “a coward”. I have never served, nor sent children into war, but I would never be so stupid to denigrate a man with a heroic service record, but one things neoc-con republicans can’t stand are real heroes-like Max Cleland, or John McCan or Sent. Murtha-So, Mr. Murtha, please keep on criticizing-it drives ’em crazy!

  2. People like Carole S. with her comment above continue to denigrate the right that our soldiers fight and die for every day — you don’t have to be a warrior or the parent of one to be entitled to free speech in this country. As Liberals constantly remind us, we are ENTITLED to free speech… unless of course we happen to be Conservatives, I suppose.

I support the Police Dept, Fire Dept, and other brave men and women. Although I have never been (or had a child who was) a cop or a firefighter, I will definitely feel free to disagree with one who shows lack of judgement and poor patriotism. Get out of our faces with that nonsense, Carole.

  3. It is ignorant and irresponsible statements that have killed 2080 us servicemen and women over in Iraq. If George Bush knew his facts we would not be over in Iraq and my sons life would not be in danger. If you knew your facts you would know that NO american soldier has ever been a coward. Afraid of dying maybe, but never a coward. Shame on you, and your ignorant statements. It is what it is, what makes you an expert. Have you ever served in the military? I have. Just for the record two years of war is not what I consider cutting and running.

All the individuals like Dawn seem to forget is that while we may indeed have the right of free speech, you may not yell fire in a crowded theater (when there is no fire) and you also may not slander or libel other people. There is no evidence that Sen. Murtha ever engaged in any act of cowardice in his military career or otherwise. In fact it is extremely brave to come out against this administration’s policies in the current political climate. Especially when this administration will stoop so low as to “out” the CIA employed wife of a person who dared to criticize the Bush policies.

    >

There is a difference between disagreeing with someone’s opinion and attacking them personally for expressing their opinion, something that Dawn doesn’t seem to get.

    >

What the hell do cops and firefighters have to do with the Iraq war? When I served my community, North Philadelphia was similar to Iraq. I never wanted any medals. I was happy to help those I could, get a paycheck, and come home in one piece every night.

    >

Since when is it “unpatriotic” or showing a “lack of judgment” to disagree with the policies of a loose cannon administration?

I am neither liberal or conservative. And I was an EMS worker for many years before retiring for a career in law.

I think it is Dawn who should get out of people’s faces with her nonsensical rabid diatribes and get a life.

  5. “It is ignorant and irresponsible statements that have killed 2080 us servicemen and women over in Iraq.”

Interesting flight of fancy but wrong, Susan. It is terrorists that have killed our men and women in uniform in Iraq. If you all could stop your Bush-bashing long enough to see the facts, you might be able to fully support the brave men and women of our Armed Forces.

  6. Dawn sez: it is terrorists who kill our soldiers……funny….there were no terrorists in Iraq until we sent out kids there to fight over WMD that didn’t exist.

The best way to support our brave soldiers is to bring them home from Iraq and let the Iraqis kill each other.

    Bush bashing?

yes! His whole administration is corrupt…

yes! Irresponsible statements, like “Iraq has weapons of mass destruction,” are what get our soldiers killed. Bush and his cronies lie like a rug.
